It was not easy to find out who were these "Frars Josty" ("Brothers-Josty") Finally the following details could be found in the State Archive in Chur: they were the sons of Niklaus-Rudolf Josty and his wife Ida, born Josty, both from Madulein (Engadine, Grisons) but resident in Berlin:
It is said that Johann already worked as a Photographer in Berlin. If this can be proved, this should have been before 1860. |
